RAI were recently given the opportunity to supply Rope Access Eddy Current technicians to Marlin Offshore / DCD-Dorbyl for the inspection of a new crane boom section, fabricated by DCD-Dorbyl.
The work scope was 100% eddy current after load test was completed on practically the entire crane boom. Not only was the wind over 60km/h postponing the job, the Tender barge was on a tight schedule to get back to Angola. Time=$
Always keeping safety our top priority, moving along the crane boom is done with caution and precision.
Using precision inspection equipment, we were able to swiftly inspect large quantities of welding in hard to reach places, with minimal disruption to other work. Having started the primary section of the boom at 6:00am, the client was well pleased that the boom was done at 14:00 that afternoon.
